Travelling by air

Carrasco International Airport is about  30 - 40 minute drive away from Ciudad Vieja, the downtown area of Montevideo, where the congress venue is located.
Montevideo airport has its own taxi service which picks you up right outside the arrival hall door. A taxi to the congress venue will cost you around 60 USD.
There is also a van service, which takes 5 passengers for around 12 dollares each. For more information check

You can also take a local bus from the bus stop just ourside the airport door. These buses are not prepared for passengers with big luggage, but it you are travelling lightly it is fine. Buses going downtown run every 15 mintus and tickets cost around 2 USD.

For those of you who are comfortable driving, you have the option to hire a car in advance and arrange to pick up your car at the airport. 


 

Travelling by bus

If you are arriving by bus to Montevideo, you will get to the International bus terminal – Tres Cruces.
This two-level complex has an upper-level with shops,  money exchange and food court open from 8.30
am to 10 pm. You can take a taxi to congress venue for around 5 USD.

Montevideo City Tour

Montevideo is the capital and most populated city of Uruguay. It is also the administrative headquarters of
the MERCOSUR. It has its coastline on the Rio de la Plata (River Plate) and it boasts an ideal bay that forms
a natural harbor. It provides all kinds of cultural, gastronomic and entertainment attractions as well as outdoor walks along its rambla, squares, parks and historical buildings. The tour shows the most spectacular landmarks of the city: Plaza Independencia, Executive Tower where the offices of the President of the Republic are located, Palacio Salvo, the Solís Theater, Port Market, Agricultural Market, the Legislative Palace home of the legislative branch, the Constituency Obelisk of 1830, the Estadio Centenario and much more. Along the United Nation's promenade we start the way back to downtown going through Punta Gorda and stopping in Plaza Virgilio where you’ll get one of the most spectacular panoramic views of the coast. Colonia del Sacramento Tour

A cultural sightseeing to the history of the conquest and colonization of the River Plate. 
Discover the attractions of the only Portuguese original city in the former Banda Oriental, the present República Oriental del Uruguay. 
The walk lets the tourists observe in its course, the agricultural, livestock and industrial production, the way we make our introduction in the world economy. 
We’ll visit the singular city of Nueva Helvecia best known as Colonia Suiza and the magnificent historical landmark Colonia del Sacramento, situated on the north bank of the River Plate, 177 km. away from Montevideo and 45 km. straight from Buenos Aires. 
Its Historic District was declared by UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 1995. 
Its urban plan of Portuguese origin contrasts with the model ordering the Spanish Law of the West Indies. 
It is characterized by the distinctive defensive walls and bastions. 
We visit the Rambla Costanera, the Real de San Carlos with its old Bull Square, the San Benito Church and other neighbour towns of the city.

Punta del Este Tour

Our tour to Punta del Este is the highlight of our services. Enjoy this unique destination where we will show you the most spectacular spots of our main worldwide known resort. 
Best beaches, food options, social and cultural events and fun everywhere in the best resort of the South Cone. 
ITINERARY We go out of Montevideo by the United Nations rambla and the Interbalnearia highway up to Solis where we follow the waterfront promenade to Piriapolis, exquisite European-style resort where will see the Argentino Hotel and the surrounding hills. We’ll go up to the San Antonio hill from where you will have the best view of the place. 
The tour now goes straight to Punta del Este where we will visit the main neighborhoods and residential zones like Beverly Hills. We continue up to the popular La Barra and we’ll cross its famous wavy bridge.
Back to the peninsula through the Brava beach coast, admiring its spectacular art buildings. 
Free time for lunch in the port zone and amusement. 
On our way back to Montevideo we will make a stop in Casapueblo (entrance fee not included) the majestic

Is a bike ride along the southern part of the city, visiting different neighborhoods.
From Old City we passed through Zabala Square, Matriz Square, Independence Square, Sur
Neighborhood, Rodó Park and ends at a local bar with a drink, which can be a glass of domestic wine,
juice or milkshake.
